Safety is of paramount importance at Mandeville. That’s why today was a fire drill and emergency response training. The fire drill is necessary because Mandeville resides in two old canal houses. Fortunately, there are many escape routes, but it is good to realize how quickly fire can spread. The students were shown videos about how quickly a fire can start in, for example, a power strip or laptop. Of course, the students were allowed to put out a real fire (fake fire).
Then it was time for the emergency response. The students learned how to perform CPR and first aid for minor accidents. All in all a very successful afternoon.
