On January 13, 2024, the students were received by Pieter Verhoeve, mayor of Gouda. It is an annual tradition that the mayor receives the new students in Gouda. Pieter also teaches history and constitutional law at Mandeville. Our mayor is an erudite conversationalist and has a fabulous knowledge of facts about Dutch history.
