Karen van den Hondel is a forensic doctor in the Rotterdam region. Karen recently obtained her PhD for the thesis ‘Suicides and domestic setting corpses. A forensic view’. At Mandeville Academy, Karen teaches as part of the Cold Case series. The purpose of this series is to introduce students to the criminal law column within the study of law. The students work together with the police in The Hague and Northern Netherlands for which they investigate cold cases. From this educational design, students learn from practice. Various experts teach in the context of the research that the students conduct. Karen teaches about forensic trace investigation. How ‘reads’ with a human remains.
